In the course, we will learn about the response that occurs when an event is detected and how to conduct investigations and establish response plans for events and rapid recovery from network security breaches.

"Incident Response and Accountability" course teaches how to identify, address, and respond to cyber events within an organization. The course covers the process of event backup, tools and methods for dealing with events, improvement and future orientation, and legal responsibility for backup. The goal is to enable students to handle cyber events from A to Z and bring the organization back to normal operation as quickly as possible.

"Incident Response and Accountability" is a term related to the field of information security. The term refers to the process in which the organization responds to various security events that may occur, such as cyber attacks, breaches, data loss, exposure of sensitive data, and more.

The incident response process includes various stages:

  • Identification: Identifying the event or abnormal occurrence that may indicate a security event.
  • Diagnosis: Examining and diagnosing the event to understand its nature, the authorities affected, and its implications.
  • Rapid Response: Rapid event backup to prevent further damage and address the situation.
  • Management Decisions: Making decisions on how to deal with the event, how to close it, and what steps to take to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
  • Involvement of Relevant Teams: Relevant teams such as technical, managerial, and legal teams intervene and take the necessary steps to handle the event.
  • Recovery and Learning: After the event is mitigated, full recovery can be performed and recommended precautionary steps taken to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Learning from the event and proper dissemination of lessons learned are also important for improving security levels.

In addition, accountability for incident response also includes the legal and managerial roles required for security team managers and participating response teams.
