LPIC-2 is the second certification in the Linux Professional Institute (LPI) certification program.
In order to obtain the LPIC-2 certification, you must be certified in LPIC-1 and pass the exams 201 and 202. The LPIC-2 exam assesses the candidate's ability to manage medium to small mixed networks.
In order to obtain the LPIC-2 certification, the candidate must be capable of:
- Managing systems, including tasks related to the Linux kernel, system startup, and maintenance.
- Administering storage and file systems, networking, authentication, and system security, including firewall and VPN.
- Installing and configuring network services, including DHCP, DNS, SSH, web servers, file servers using FTP, NFS, and Samba, email delivery.
- Supervising assistants and advising management regarding automation and procurement.
